1. Safety control bar
Controls forward, stop, and reverse action of the feed wheels.*
2. Valve bank
Main controls needed to operate the chipper. These include;
yoke- up and down, discharge hydraulic swivel, winch package.*
3. Auto reverse valve
Senses low engine RPM and stops the feed wheels from functioning
until the engine RPM can increase to an acceptable level.
4. Yoke
Housing for the feed wheel.*
5. Top feed wheel hydraulic motor
Provides power to the top feed wheel.
6. Hood locking pin
Secures hood and engages hood safety switch. Important safety
feature.
7. Manual swivel discharge crank
Used to manually rotate the discharge chute 360º.
8. Air filter housing
The air filter is located inside this housing. It protects the engine
from air-borne contaminates.
9. Engine control panel
Primary controls for the power unit.*
10. Engine
Provides power to the chipper. Available in a variety of
manufacturers and models.*
11. Clutch and clutch handle
Used to engage and disengage power to the chipper.*
12. Battery box
Container where the battery is stored.*
13. Discharge locking pin
Locks discharge chute in position.
14. Engine drive belt guard
Protects the operator during operation of the machine. The guard
must be attached during operation.*
15. Hydraulic yoke cylinder
Hydraulically moves the yoke up and down to access the drum.*
16. Down pressure valve
Controls the amount of downward pressure the top feed wheel applies
to the wood.
17. Infeed
Allows unrestricted flow of material and keeps operator away from
feed wheels.*
18. Yoke locking pin
Prevents accidental lowering of the top feed wheel when performing
maintenance. This is a critical safety lockout feature.
19. Safety cables
Reverses the feed when the cables are pulled. Important safety feature.
