CAUTION
Charging the battery with cables connected can damage the
machines electronic system. Disconnect both cables before
connecting the battery to a charger.
The battery generates explosive gas
during normal operation. Keep ignition
sources away at all times. Battery acid can
cause severe burns. Wear protective gear
when handling the battery.
Function
The battery is the electrical power source for the machine. It is stored
inside the metal battery box located on the tongue of the machine.
Use
When handling the battery, make sure the engine is OFF. Access the
battery by removing the lock at the side of the box and open the lid.
When connecting or disconnecting the cables, always handle the
negative (-) terminal first.
After completing the connection, reconnect and tighten the cables to the
terminals. Apply grease to the terminals to prevent corrosion. Close the
battery box cover and lock.
Maintenance
• Check the battery terminals for corrosion (white or yellowish
powder)
• Remove corrosion by covering the terminals with a solution of
baking soda and water. After the mixture bubbles and turns
brown, wash it off with water. If there is severe corrosion, clean
with a wire brush and dry with a paper towel
