4 10,000 lb Travel Jack
Function
The hitch is used to couple the towing vehicle to the chipper. There are
three options available:
1. Hitch with Ball Assembly: Is used when the towing vehicle
is equipped with a 2 5/16” diameter ball. It has a 12,000 lb
load capacity.
2. Hitch with Pintle Ring: Used for heavier loads and when the
towing vehicle is equipped with a pintle hitch.
3. Hitch with 20,000 lb Surge Brake Actuator: In the event that
the towing vehicle becomes separated with the chipper, the chain
on the hydraulic brake actuator will be pulled. This will pull the
lever forward locking the hydraulic brakes on the axle.
4. 10,000 lb Travel Jack: The jack is used to level the tongue. It has
13 1/2” of travel and has a 10,000 lb load capacity.
Use
Secure the loose end of the actuator cable/chain to the towing vehicle,
making sure the cable/chain does not drag, has no strain or restrictions,
and the cable/chain is unobstructed of pull in the event of vehicle
separation.
WARNING!
A faulty hydraulic line or leak can result in your brakes not working.
Check your breakaway system periodically to insure your brakes are
in proper working order.
