WARNING!
Safety
Moving chains and belts can cause serious injury or
death. Do not operate without the guards in place. Do
not attempt to touch, check, clean, or adjust the chain or
belt during operation.
Never use flammable cleaning solvents on the belt.
Friction may cause a fire. Use non-flammable cleaners.
Function
The feed wheel drive chain helps provide power to the top feed wheel.
The chain drive consists of the chain, two sprockets, two bushings,
hydraulic motor, and the chain guard.
The chipper drum belt drive, helps provide power to the chipper drum.
The belt drive consists of the belt, two sheaves, two bushings, and the
belt guard.
Use
The chipper drum drive belt and feed wheel drive chain are housed inside
their respective guards. Never remove the guards unless you are changing
or servicing the belt or chain. To remove the guards, loosen and remove
the bolts and washers on the top and sides of the guard, lift the guard off
the machine. Always replace the guards and secure with the bolts and
washers after the work is completed.

To get top performance from the chain drive, it is important that the
chain has the proper tension. When adjusting the tension, you need to
increase the distance between the two sprockets by manually pulling on
the hydraulic motor. See the Maintenance section for checking, tension
adjustments, and replacing the chipper drum drive belt.
Maintenance
• Inspect sprockets for wear or damage when replacing the chain
• Grease and oil can penetrate the belt, remove grease and oil from
belt as soon as possible
• Clean the belt with a clean cloth and non-flammable cleaning
solution. Soap and a mild detergent will work, but a non-
flammable cleaner is best
• Inspect sheaves for wear or damage when replacing the belt
