Multi-Function Knob - Concentric Ring LED
The concentric ring LED blinks green when the Multi-Function Knob is using the secondary
feature.
If Intelligent Lighting is activated, the concentric ring LED does not blink green when the Multi-
Function Knob is in the secondary mode. The LED turns into solid color of orange, red, or green
depending on the status of Intelligent Lighting. See Intelligent Lighting Indicators on page 39 for
different status of Intelligent Lighting.

Alert Tones
Your radio uses alert tones to inform you of the condition of your radio. The following table lists these
tones and when they occur.

The radio receives a private call.

Call Alert The radio receives a call alert.
Single, high-pitched
tone
Central Acknowl-
edge
The central controller of the system receives
the Call Alert, emergency alarm, reprogram re-
quest, or status/message transmission.

tones
Mobile Unit Ac-
knowledge
The intended unit receives a Call Alert page,
or the intended dispatcher acknowledges the
emergency alarm, reprogram request, or sta-
tus/message transmission.
Sound similar to a
telephone busy sig-
nal
System Busy If the PTT button is pressed, this tone indicates
transmission fail. Release the PTT button. Wait
for a callback.
