This call type can be carried out in two ways:
Duplex Call
This call type is only allowed in Trunked Mode Operation (TMO). During this call, both parties can
speak at the same time.
Simplex Call
Available in TMO or Direct Mode Operation (DMO). Only one party can speak at a time.
5.6.1.1
Making Private Calls
Procedure:
1 From the home screen, enter a number.
2 If Private is not the first type of call presented, select it by repeatedly pressing Ctype.
3 If the Private Call Hook Customization feature is enabled, press MenuHook Method and
select the required hook method for simplex and duplex calls.
4 Press Done.
5 Depending on the mode, perform one of the following actions:
If… Then…
If you are making simplex calls in TMO or
DMO,
a Press and hold the PTT button.
b Wait for the Talk Permit tone before talk-
ing.
c Release the PTT button to listen.
If you are making duplex calls in TMO,
a Press the Send key.
b You hear a ringing tone until the called
party answers the call.
6 To end the call, press the End key.

Phone and PABX Calls
Phone Calls allow you to call a landline telephone number or a cellular mobile phone number. Private
Automatic Branch Exchange (PABX) Calls allow you to call local (office) extension numbers.
NOTICE: This feature is available only in Trunked Mode Operation (TMO).
The Phone/PABX Speed Dial feature allows you to dial a shortened number of up to three digits
instead of the full number. The Phone/PABX Speed # number is assigned when the dialed number is
added in the contact list.
