•Automatic—Yourradiousestherstavailablegatewayforthattalkgroup.
•Specic—YourradiousesonlytheGatewaywiththespeciedGatewayaddressfor
thattalkgroup.IfyourradiodisplaysSelectedGateway:None,pressEdittoenter
thecurrentgatewayaddress.
•Repeater—Usestherstavailablerepeaterforthattalkgroup.
•GW+Rep—Usestherstavailablegatewayorrepeaterforthattalkgroup.
•Automatic—Usestherstavailablegatewayforthattalkgroup.
•Specic—UsesonlytheGatewaywiththespeciedGatewayaddressforthat
talkgroup.IfyourradiodisplaysSelectedGateway:None,pressEdittoenterthe
currentGatewayaddress.
WhentheGatewayandtheRepeatercannotbecommunicatedeventhoughatalkgrouptousethemis
congured,theradioattemptsthedirectMS-MScommunication.

Result:WhenyourradiodetectstheappropriateGatewayand/ortheRepeater,theGatewayand/orRepeater
iconsturnssolid,respectively.
3.5TransmitInhibitMode
TheTransmitInhibitModeisamodeinwhichtheradiosendsnoradiotransmissions.Itisrecommendedto
activatethemodeinRFsensitiveareas,forexamplehospitals,airplanes,wheresafetycanbejeopardizeddue
totransmissionradiation.
Toactivate,selectMENU→Networks→TXIMode→Activate.
Inthismode,theradiodoesnottransmitunderanycircumstancesexceptfortheEmergencyCalls.Allthefunctions
andkeyswhichcausetransmission,forexampleregistrationtothenetwork,changingtalkgrouporfolder,sending
SDSmessages,orpressingthe
PTTbuttonaredisabled.AnytransmissiontrialcausestheradiotodisplayNot
AllowedInTXIModenoticationandtoplayatone.
Yourradiocanstillreceive:
•Messages—storedintheInbox
•Calls—storedintheMissedCallslist
withouttheoptiontorespond.
