Using the Smart Key
The smart key gives you
another way to perform
many basic phone functions.
It anticipates the next action
you are likely to perform. For
example, when you highlight
a menu item, you can press
the smart key to select it. You
can use the smart key to
make and end calls, turn features on and off, and open
your phonebook. The smart key usually performs the same
function as the right soft key

.
Using the External Display
When the flip is closed, the external display shows time
and phone status information. It also displays messages to
notify you of incoming calls and other events. You can
perform the following functions in the external display.

Using the Handsfree Speaker
When you activate your phone’s integrated handsfree
speaker, you can talk to the other party without holding the
phone to your ear.
Press
SPEAKER
(
+
) to turn the handsfree speaker on or
off during a call.
Your phone displays
Spkrphone On
in the home screen.
The handsfree speaker remains on (even if you close
the flip) until you press
SPEAKER
(
+
) again or end
the call.
Note:
The handsfree speaker is disabled when you
connect your phone to a handsfree car kit or headset
accessory.
Changing a Code, PIN, or
Password
Your phone’s 4-digit unlock code is originally set to 1234,
and the 6-digit security code is originally set to 000000. If
T-Mobile has
not
reset these codes, we recommend that
you change them to prevent others from accessing your
personal information. The unlock code must contain 4
digits, and the security code must contain 6 digits.
You can also reset your SIM card PIN code, PIN2 code.
