Why is my MrCool Air Conditioner not cooling well and smells bad?
    • L
      Lisa WangNov 24, 2025
If your MrCool Air Conditioner isn't cooling or heating properly and the room air is smelly, several factors could be at play. First, check if the power fuse has blown or the circuit breaker has been tripped, and replace the fuse or reset the breaker if necessary. Make sure the remote control batteries aren't exhausted, and replace them if they are. Also, verify that the timer isn't active. Ensure that the air inlet and outlet of the outdoor unit are free from obstructions and that all doors and windows are closed. Clean or replace the air filter if it's clogged with dust. Adjust the louver to the correct position and increase the fan speed if it's set too low. Correct the temperature setting if it's too high or too low. Additionally, inspect the room for smells impregnated in the wall, ca...

Why is my MrCool Air Handler having a low cooling effect?
    • S
      Steven RandallAug 25, 2025
If your MrCool Air Handler is not cooling effectively, several factors could be at play. The outdoor and indoor unit heat exchangers might be dirty, requiring you to clean them. A dirty air filter can also reduce cooling, so clean the air filter. Blocked inlets or outlets of the indoor or outdoor units can impede airflow; eliminate any accumulated dust. Ensure doors and windows are closed to prevent heat from entering. Direct sunlight can also affect cooling performance, so use curtains to block the sunshine. Reduce any excessive heat sources in the area. In some cases, high outdoor temperatures can reduce the AC's cooling capacity, which is normal. Finally, refrigerant leakage or a lack of refrigerant can be a cause, so check for leaks and recharge the refrigerant as needed.

If the fan speed on your MrCool Air Handler cannot be changed, it might be because the unit is in automatic mode, where the fan speed is automatically adjusted. Why does my MrCool Air Handler emit white mist?
    • A
      Alyssa MooreSep 7, 2025
In humid regions, a large temperature difference between the room’s air and the conditioned air can cause a white mist to occur; this is normal. Also, when the unit restarts in HEAT mode after defrosting, a white mist may be emitted due to moisture generated from the defrosting process, which is also normal.

      Alejandra MaynardSep 4, 2025
