Why is my MrCool Air Handler having a low cooling effect?
    • S
      Steven RandallAug 25, 2025
If your MrCool Air Handler is not cooling effectively, several factors could be at play. The outdoor and indoor unit heat exchangers might be dirty, requiring you to clean them. A dirty air filter can also reduce cooling, so clean the air filter. Blocked inlets or outlets of the indoor or outdoor units can impede airflow; eliminate any accumulated dust. Ensure doors and windows are closed to prevent heat from entering. Direct sunlight can also affect cooling performance, so use curtains to block the sunshine. Reduce any excessive heat sources in the area. In some cases, high outdoor temperatures can reduce the AC's cooling capacity, which is normal. Finally, refrigerant leakage or a lack of refrigerant can be a cause, so check for leaks and recharge the refrigerant as needed.
