SandCOSensorswithTruCalOnly
TheLifeandHealthinformationreportsthegeneralhealthofthesensor.XCellsensorswithTruCal(HydrogenSulfideand
CarbonMonoxide)calculatecurrentsensorsensitivityusingautomatedpulsechecks.Thepulsestimulatesthesensorwith
aresponsesimilartohavingactualcalibrationgasapplied.Thestimulatedresponseiscomparedtothelastcalibrationand
willmakeadjustmentstosensitivitytomatchthelastcalibration.Whentherequiredadjustmentisgreaterthantheaccuracy
ofthealgorithm’sadjustment,thesensorwillcallforacalibration.
Alldigitalsensors,includingcatalyticbeadandoxygen,willshowlifehealthstatusas'Good'or'Fair'withthe
followingcalculation:
Goodconditionoccurswhenthecurrentcalibratedspansensitivityisgreaterthan50%ofthewaybetweenthe
initialcalibrationsensitivityandtheend-of-lifespansensitivity.Fairconditionoccurswhenthecurrentcalibrated
spansensitivityislessthan50%ofthewayfromtheinitialcalibrationsensitivityandtheendoflifespan
sensitivity.
NOTICE
Usingexpiredcalibrationgasortheincorrectcalibrationgascanresultinapremature"Fair"status.
5 Calibration
Calibrationistheprocessofapplyingaknownquantityofgastothetransmittersothatthetransmittercanadjustthe
precisionandaccuracyofthemeasurementsmadeinnormaloperatingmode.Thisprocessensuresthatgas
measurementsareasaccurateaspossible.
