• Before barring the engine, ensure that nobody is in the danger zone.

• Do not smoke.
Preparatory steps
1. Shut off fuel supply line before fuel filter.
2. Remove engine control system (→ Page 240).
3. Drain fuel (→ Page 192).
4. Remove charge-air pipes and all gaskets.
