6.7. Checking the wear of the brake pads
Periodically check the width of the friction material layer of
the pads, making sure it never falls below the wear limit (1
mm-0.04 inch
).
WARNING
If the brake pads are excessively worn, the effec-
tiveness of the braking system decreases,
increasing the risk of accidents, personal injury or
death. If the pads have worn to near the wear limit,
have both pads replaced by your MV Agusta deal-
er. Never replace just one pad, the pads must
always be replaced in pairs. Ensure that the new
pads are suitably broken in, see § 4.2.
