Why is there low heat on my Napoleon LD485 when the valve is on high?

  Low heat or flame on your Napoleon Grill when the valve is on high could be due to a few reasons. If you're using propane, ensure you're following the lighting procedure carefully: all gas grill valves must be off when you turn on the tank valve. Turn the tank on slowly to allow the pressure to equalize. If you are using natural gas, the supply line may be undersized and must be sized according to installation code. For both propane and natural gas, make sure to preheat the grill with both main burners on high for 10 to 15 minutes.

Relight the burner and burn on high for at least five minutes or until the ceramic tiles are evenly glowing red. Ensure that no more than 75% of the grill surface is covered by objects or accessories. Allow the burner to cool and inspect it very closely for cracks. If any cracks are found, contact your authorized Napoleon dealer to order a replacement burner assembly.

  The peeling inside the lid or hood of your Napoleon Grill is not a defect. The finish on the lid and hood is porcelain and will not peel. The peeling is caused by hardened grease, which dries into paint-like shards that flake off. Regular cleaning will prevent this.
