The RECOVERY TEST program uses your age and other User information to see how your heart rate adjusts from a
selected heart rate zone to a casual pace. The program supplies a score that can be used to track how your heart adjusts to
physical conditions.
1. Push the PROGRAMS button until the HEART HEALTH Category is selected.
2. The Console shows the RECOVERY TEST workout. Push OK.
Consult a physician before you start an exercise program. Stop exercising if you feel pain or tightness in
your chest, become short of breath, or feel faint. Contact your doctor before you use the machine again.
Use the values calculated or measured by the machine’s computer for reference purposes only. The heart
rate displayed on the console is an approximation and should be used for reference only.
3. Push the Increase()orDecrease()buttonstoselecttheHeartRateZone(HRZone),andpushOK.
4. The program begins with a 2 minute period at a causal pace. The Console will display the selected zone and the heart
rate value to start the test.
5. After two minutes, the Console will request the heart rate, “GRASP SENSORS”, if one is not detected.
If the heart rate is not in the zone, the Incline of the walking deck will be increased and the heart rate will be checked
again in one minute. This will continue until the heart rate is in the zone.
6. With the heart rate in the selected zone, the User must continue at this workout setting for three minutes.
7. After three minutes, the Incline will adjust to zero. The Console will begin a one minute cool down. The Recovery Test
valuewillbepresentedafterthenalheartratereadingattheendofthecooldownperiod.
Note: Recovery Test values should only be compared to your previous values and not to other User Profiles.
Pausing or Stopping
The Console will go into Pause Mode if the user pushes PAUSE/STOP during a workout.
1. Push the PAUSE/STOP button to pause your workout. The Console will display “ PAUSED “.
2. To continue your workout, push the START button.
To stop the workout, push the PAUSE/STOP button. The Console will go into Results / Cool Down mode.
Results / Cool Down Mode
AllworkoutsexceptQuickStartandtheHeartRateControlprogramshavea3-minuteCoolDownperiod.DuringthisCool
Down period, the Console shows the Workout Results. The Console will cycle through the workout results every 4 sec-
onds.
DuringtheCoolDownperiod,thespeedofthewalkingbeltwilladjustto3.2km/h(2mph)andtheinclinesettingwillad-
just to zero. The User can adjust the belt speed and deck incline during the Cool Down period.
Push PAUSE/STOP to end the Results / Cool Down period and go back to Power-Up Mode. If there is no input to the
Console for 5 minutes, the Console automatically goes into Sleep Mode.

1. From the Power-Up screen, push the User button to select a User Profile.
2. Push the Goal Track button to enter the Goal Track mode.
