Configuration with a combination of NR, NP and CH units
Follow these steps to replace an NR, NP, or CH unit in a cascade
system with an NPE water heater:
1. In the Parameter information mode, use the Up (+) or Down (-)
buttons to select P.01 (Cascade protocol mode), and then press
the Info button.

2. In the Cascade protocol mode, use the Up (+) or Down (-)
buttons to select an option and press the Info button to set the
mode.

3. The master NPE unit that is connected to the NR, NP and
CH units will come online as soon as the unit is configured
as the master unit (for NR, NP or CH units, a model-specific
configuration may be used to set them as the master units).
4. The unit ID will be initialized on the NPE unit, if “2. NR” is
selected in the Cascade protocol mode.
5. The master unit puts the NPE unit whose ID is initialized into
the slave setup mode and a new ID is assigned to the NPE
unit when you press the Diagnostic button and the Down (-)
buttons simultaneously for two seconds.
6. The master water heater periodically scans for slave water
heaters and assigns IDs (1–15) to the corresponding units in
order.
7. For NR, NP or CH units, a model-specific configuration may be
used to complete the master unit configuration.

NOTE
Ensure that you have properly configured the cascade protocol
settings before making any changes to the current cascade
system.
4.7.24 Cascade system – Panel [POWER]
button function
1. Press the [POWER] button once at the front panel to turn ON/
OFF each unit individually.
2. Press the [Diagnostic] + [POWER] button on the MASTER unit
front panel for over 5 seconds to turn ON/OFF the whole
CASCADE system.
4.7.25 Recirculation type Setting
1. In the Parameter information mode, use the Up (+) or Down (-)
buttons to select P.03 (Recirculation type), and then press the
Info button.

2. In the Recirculation Type, use the Up (+) or Down (-) buttons to
select an option and press the Info button(or no button input
for 10 seconds) to set the mode.

3. If the [RESET] button pressed once, then it returns to the
<PARAMETER INFORMATION MENU MODE>.
* If there is no button input for 5 minutes, then automatically returns to the
<PARAMETER INFORMATION MENU MODE>.
