5-8 Connecting Peripheral Devices
If you encounter excessive noise or speaker
feedback while recording, try lowering the volume or
moving the speakers away from the docking station.
Headphones or Speakers
Use the headphones port to connect either headphones or
external speakers to the docking station.
Headphones
WARNING
Before plugging in headphones, make sure the
system volume software setting is not set to maxi-
mum. A maximum volume setting can cause injury
to your ears.
When you connect headphones, the internal docking station
speakers are disabled. To connect headphones, insert the
headphone jack into the headphones port.
Speakers
When you connect external speakers, the internal docking
station speakers are disabled. Connect external speakers as
follows:
1. Set up your speakers according to the directions that
came with them.
2. Locate the headphone port on the back of the docking
station.
3. Plug in the speaker audio cable jack into the headphone
port on the back of the docking station.
