5. Temperature Controller Operation
5.1 Temperature Controller (TEC) Module
The Temperature Controller is a precision thermoelectric cooler control module that
is an integral part of the Model 6000 Controller. Features of module include:
Close-case calibration
Operational with most thermistors, IC and RTD temperature sensors
Flexible setup with 6000 Save/Recall front panel functions
High temperature stability
Current Limit
5.2 TEC Safety Features
5.2.1 Conditions Which Will Automatically Shut Off the TEC
Output
High Temperature Limit
Low Temperature Limit
R Limit
Sensor Open
TEC Module Open
Sensor Select changed
Sensor Shorted
Mode Change
Any Linked Functions
With the exception of the linked functions, each of these conditions can be disabled
by clearing the appropriate bits in the TEC OUTOFF register. See the Computer
Interfacing Manual for additional information on the OUTOFF register.
5.3 The TEC Connectors
On the TEC Module, a 15-pin D-connector is used for input and output connections
to the series 700 mounts, as shown by the pin-out diagram below.
