4.3.1 Install check before starting
In the factory, the coaxially of the pump and engine has been precisely adjusted, but the
coaxially of the preset is usually changed during transportation. Check the degree of
horizontal, vertical, and angular coaxially of the coupling with a ruler and a gauge or dial
gauge.
Alignment of drive device shaft center and pump shaft center:
1. After the diesel engine is connected to the pump through the universal coupling, the
connection ends of the universal coupling must be kept parallel.
2. The bearing center of diesel engine and pump should be on one center line, allowing
±0.76mm (0.03in) deviation
3. The distance is equal to half of the universal coupling's total telescopic travel.
4. The angle between the bearing center line of diesel engine and the bearing center line
of pump is controlled at 2°±1°.
