3.3.2 Pump Suction Pipeline for VTP
1. For centrifugal fire pumps (vertical shaft,turbine type), the suction pipe must have
sufficient immersion depth, and the distance from the suction inlet of the third diffuser to
the liquid level at least should not be less than 10ft(3.2m).
2. For every elevation increase of 1000ft (305m), the immersion depth increases by 1ft
(0.3m).
3. Centrifugal fire pumps (vertical shaft,turbine type) installation must ensure the verticality,
not vertical installation will cause pump damage when operation.
