JACKING INSTRUCTIONS
CAUTION:
1. Follow jacking instructions in order
to reduce the possibility of serious
personal injury.
2. The jack is designed for use only
when changing wheels.
3. Never get beneath the vehicle using
the jack.
4. 00 not start or run engine while
vehicle is on the jack.
PREPARATIONS:
• Park on a level surface and set parking
brake
firmly.
•
Set transmission in "PARK".
• Activate hazard warning flasher.

CONVERTIBLE
• Block both the front and rear of the
wheel diagonally opposite the jacking
position.
Proceed with changing the wheel as
follows:
1. F rom the luggage compartment
remove spare wheel and tire, jack, jack
base
and jack handle - wheel nut
wrench.
2. Remove
wheel disc or hub caps using
the sharp end of the jack handle.
NOTE: On Ninety-Eights and Custom
Cruisers,
it is necessary to remove the rear
wheel
opening panel. To remove this panel,
lift the panel lock (located at the center of
the lower edge of the panel) over the inside
flange
and push the handle downward and
toward the front of the car. Tip the panel
outward at the top while raising up and away
from the mounting hooks. Reverse this
procedure to install.
3. Loosen, but do not remove, wheel
nuts by turning counterclockwise.
NOTE: Capped chrome nuts can be
damaged if
lug wrench is not fully
seated on wheel nuts.
