NOTE:
Some
engines will increase in idle
speed during
_ the break-in period.
If
this
occurs, an idle speed
adjustment
should
be
made.
Refer
to label in engine
compartment
for correct specifications.
CIRCUIT
BREAKERS
(Headlamp
and
Wiper Motor)
The
head lamp circuits are
protected
by a
circuit breaker
in
the
light switch. An
electrical overload
on
the
breaker will
cause
the
lamps
to
go
on
and
off,
or
in
some
cases remain
off.
If
this condition
develops,
have
your
wiring checked
immediately.
In
addition
to
a fuse,
the
windshield wiper
motor
is
also
protected
by a circuit breaker. If
the
motor
overheats,
due
to
overloading caused
by
heavy snow, etc.
the
wipers will remain
stopped
until
the
motor
cools.
DISTRIBUTOR
AND
SPARK
PLUGS
To
obtain
maximum
engine performance
and
fuel
economy,
engine
tune-up
operations
should
be
performed
at
the
service intervals
recommended
in
the
Maintenance Schedule folder. This includes
inspecting, adjusting
or
replacing
the
spark
plug wires,
distributor
points,
setting
the
timing, cleaning
and
gapping or replacing
the
spark plugs.
BALL
JOINTS
The
ball joints should be lubricated
at
every engine oil change using a
water
resistant E.P. chassis
lubricant
which
meets
the
GM
specifications 6031-M. Inspect
seals
for
damage
at
each lubrication. Check
the
lower ball joints
for
wear using
the
visual wear indicator.
