GAS
CAP-On
all series
except
Custom
Cruiser, it
is
located behind a hinged
door
directly below
the
trunk
compartment
lock. On
the
Custom Cruiser
the
fuel filler
cap
is
located on
the
left rear fender. See
gas cap removal procedure
in
the
"Service
and M!lintenance" section.
GAS
'
OllNE
RECOMMENDATION-Use
an
unleaded or low-lead fuel
of
at
least
91
Research Octane - Symbol Number 2
(unleaded
or
low lead fuel) . Regular fuel
(Symbol Number 3) should be used
only
when needed
to
eliminate
knock.
TIRE
INFLATION
PRESSURES-Check
at
least
monthly.
Keep inflated
to
pressures
shown on tire placard affixed on
the
inside
of
the
glove box
door
.
ENGINE OIL RECOMMENDATIONS-Use
only
high quality SE oils. The
chart
under
Engine Oil Recommendations will serve as a
guide for selecting proper
0
il
viscosity.
ENGINE OIL
DIPSTICK-Located
on left
side of engine block. Check
oil level as
the
last operation
in
a fuel stop. Maintain
between
"ADD"
and
"FULL"
marks
on
dipstick.
WINDSHIELD
WASHER-Check
reservoir
fluid
level regularly.
Use
a washer fluid
such as
GM
Optikleen.
ENERGIZER
(Battery)-Check
fluid level
monthly
utilizing
the
level indicator
cap
marked
"Delco
Eye".
If
the
transparent
eye within
the
cap
glows,fluid
level
is
low.
Add
only
colorless, odorless drinking
water
or distilled water
to
bring level
to
split ring
in
filler opening.
HOOD
RELEASE-Pull
the
remote
hood
lock lever labeled
"Hood"
located inside
the
car
to
the
left of
the
parking brake
foot
pedal. With
the
hood
released,
the
hood
may be raised
by
pushing upward
on
the
secondary latch located in
the
opening
between
the
front
end
panel and
the
hood
just
to
the
right of
the
center line.
