Maintenance
Routine maintenance keeps your planer in top shape. Please follow the maintenance schedule below,
and use the maintenance record worksheet attached in the back of the manual to document all tasks
completed. NOTICE: Maintenance schedule may vary for individual users due to different situations and
safety requirements.
WARNING
Disconnect the machine from the power source before any maintenance work is
performed. After servicing the planer, remove all wrenches and tools before
restarting the machine. Failure to comply can cause serious injury!
Maintenance Schedule
Interval
Task
Every day
Remove dust buildups from the planer.
Inspect power cord and plug for signs of aging and damages. Replace as needed.
Every week
Inspect cutterhead and rollers. Remove any dust and resin accumulation.
Inspect/rotate/replace worn cutter inserts.
Wax planer bed and extension wings.
Every Month
Inspect motor carbon brushes. Replace as a pair when worn.
Motor brush life expectancy: 170 Hours
Every 6 months
Inspect the elevation of the extension tables. Adjust as needed.
Inspect V-belt and replace it if it shows signs of cracking or glazing.
Notice: Motor bearings are permanently sealed and lubricated, and do not require lubrication.
