Movie sound recording using an IC recorder
You can record movie sound using an IC recorder.
Connect an IC recorder to the microphone connector. Use a non-resistor-type cable for
the connection.
Set [Camera Rec. Volume] under [PCM Recorder K Link] in the custom menus (MENU
c Z) in advance (P.177).
Recording movie sound using the OLYMPUS IC recorder LS-100
If using the OLYMPUS IC recorder LS-100 for recording movie sound, you can record
slate tones and start/end recording the sound by the operations on the camera.
Set [Slate Tone] and [Synchronized ]Rec.] under [PCM Recorder K Link] to [On] in
the custom menus (MENU
c Z) in advance (P.177).
Update the rmware of LS-100 to the latest version before using this function.

Connect the LS-100 to the USB port and microphone connector.
When the LS-100 is connected to the USB port, a message will be displayed
prompting you to choose a connection type. Select [PCM Recorder]. If the dialog is
not displayed, select [Auto] for [USB Mode] (P.96) in the custom menus.

Start movie recording.
The LS-100 simultaneously starts recording sound.
To record slate tones, press and hold Q.

End movie recording.
The LS-100 simultaneously ends recording sound.

Refer to the documentation provided with LS-100 as well.
Peaking Settings (color/intensity adjustment)
The color and intensity for the peaking display of [MF Assist] can be adjusted.
Press the INFO button to change the color and intensity when Peaking is in use (P.102).
You can also set from [Peaking Settings] in the custom menus (MENU c U)
(P.176).
R AF/MF
The following setting is added to the custom menus (MENU c R) (P.93).
[MF Clutch] added
Option Description

MF Clutch When set to [Inoperative], manual focus clutch by the
operation of the lens or manual focus using snapshot focus
is not available.
To manually focus, operate the focus ring with the focus ring
pushed forward.
• Update the rmware to the latest version to use this
function.
