Chapter 3 Preparation and inspection before observation
Inspecting the channel port (IV8635X1 only)
1 Check that the chuck screw is not abnormally deformed, has no
foreign object attached to it, and can be rotated smoothly.
2 Check that the projections and planes are not deformed and have
no foreign objects attached.
3 Check that the safety cap is attached.
4 Check that other parts are not loose.
Inspecting the channel (IV8635X1 only)
CAUTION
• To avoid damaging the scope and hook assembly, do not force the hook assembly into the
scope if strong resistance is encountered.
• Be sure to insert the hook assembly from the distal end of the scope. Do not attempt to insert
it from the channel port. This may damage the scope and hook assembly.
Insert the hook assembly into the channel opening at the distal end of the scope.
Make sure that the hook assembly exits smoothly from the channel port.
1 Loosen the chuck screw on the channel port so that the hook
assembly can be passed through it.
2 Straighten the insertion tube of the scope as much as possible.
3 While holding the scope near the distal end, gently insert the hook
assembly from the proximal end, and make sure the hook assembly
moves smoothly out of the channel port.
