Chapter 4 Basic operations
Display language setting
Select the language to be used for menus and other display text before using
the system for the first time. For more information, see “Language selection”
(page 113).
Date and time settings
Set the current date and time before using the system for the first time. For more
information, see “Setting the date and time” (page 112).
Setup of the optical adapter
The stereo optical adapter list is displayed on the live screen when the stereo
optical adapter is attached. Select the optical adapter you are using from this list,
press the [MEAS/ENTER] joystick (“Stereo optical adapter selection” (page
132)).
If a normal optical adapter (single lens) is attached, it will be automatically
recognized (see “Attaching the optical adapter” (page 155)).
CAUTION
The types of normal optical adapters are displayed. If it is incorrect, reattach the optical
adapter or see “Changing the selection of the optical adapter” (page 110) to set it manually.
Checking the illumination lighting
WARNING
The Illumination emitted from the scope distal end may heat and ignite a nearby object. Be
sure to set the illumination light turn off the [LIGHT] button on the front panel of the base unit
when not using the instrument.
Do not allow the light emitted from the scope’s distal end enter your eye directly. Otherwise,
an eye injury may result.
1 Attach the optical adapter firmly to the scope.
See “Inspecting the optical adapter” (page 51) for the procedure to attach it.
2 Ensure that the [LIGHT] indicator on the front panel is lit. If not,
press the [LIGHT] button to light the indicator.
3 Verify the light is emitted from the scope to ensure that the light
source is turned on.
