3.6 Preparation of the hook assembly

Inspecting the hook assembly
WARNING
• Be extra careful when handling the hook assembly to avoid connecting your eye with the tip.
CAUTION
• Be sure to inspect the hook assembly every time it is used. If you suspect an anomaly, use a
spare.
• Do not loosen the hook once it is attached to the spring shaft. If the hook is loose, replace it
with a new one. A loose hook can easily fall off (see “ Attaching the hook to the spring shaft”
(page 49)).
1 Take out the hook assembly from the hook assembly housing in the
carrying case. Take care when extending the hook assembly so that
it does not hook something.
