Getting started
3. Network connection
You can enjoy Internet radio and DLNA by connecting the
unit to LAN. Connect the LAN cable to the ETHERNET
port.
0 Use a shielded CAT5 LAN cable (straight-type).
0 To connect the unit to another network device or to the
Internet, you must configure the relevant settings of
each device. For information on the setup, see the
instruction manual for each device or contact its
manufacturer or your ISP (Internet Service Provider).
4. Connecting external devices
REMOTE CONTROL (connecting an Onkyo RI
Dock)
Required: an RI cable
You can control an RI Dock with the remote control of
the unit by connecting the cable.
To use the RI function, you must change the input
source name to “DOCK”. For details, see “Sel Change
(Selector Change)” under “Menu settings” under
“Various settings”.
0 When playback is started on the RI Dock, this unit
will automatically select it as the input source.
0 For details on the connection to an RI Dock and its
operations, see the instruction manual of your RI
Dock.
AUX IN (analog audio input)
Required: a stereo mini-plug (ø 3.5 mm)
To listen to music stored on a connected device, press
the LINE button repeatedly to switch the input source
to “AUX IN”.
LINE IN (analog audio input)
Required: an audio pin cable
To listen to music stored on a connected device, press
the LINE button repeatedly to switch the input source
to “LINE1” or “LINE2”.
LINE OUT (analog audio output)
Required: an audio pin cable
This analog audio output is for connecting a recorder
such as cassette deck.
DIGITAL IN OPTICAL (digital audio input)
Required: an optical digital cable
To listen to music stored on a connected device, press
the DIGITAL button repeatedly to switch the input
source to “OPTICAL”.
0 As the digital in optical jack of the unit has a cover,
push in the cable against the cover as it is turned
inside.
0 To prevent cover damage, hold the optical plug
straight when inserting and removing.
DIGITAL IN COAXIAL (digital audio input)
Required: a coaxial digital cable
To listen to music stored on the connected device,
press the DIGITAL button repeatedly to switch the
input source to “COAXIAL”.
0 Read the manuals supplied with your other
components.
0 Don’t connect the power cord until you’ve completed
and double-checked all connections.
0 Push plugs in all the way to make good connections.
Loose connections can cause noise or malfunctions.
