Connecting an FM outdoor antenna
Make sure to follow the general rules given below:
• Keep the antenna away fiom noise sources (neon signs, busy
roads, elc.).
• It is dangerous to put the antenna close to _ower lines. Keep it
well away from power lines, transformers, etc.
Directional linkage
Do not use the same anlenna for both FM and TV (or VCR)
reception since the FM and TV (or VCR) signals can inlerfere with
each other. If you must use a common FM[I'V (or VCR) antenna,
use a directional linkage type splitter.
Connecting an AM outdoor antenna
If reception is poor with the indoor AM anlenna, stretch out the
ouldoor anlenna (16 feet (5 meters) or more) above a window or
outside.
• Keep the indoor AM loop antenna connecled. Do not remove it.

Note:
If you are using the TX-SR701/701 E/601/601E worldwide model in
a region where AM frequencies are delineated by lO-kHz steps, be
sure to set the "AM Frequency Step" Setup setting accordingly (see
page 55).

I Connecting the antenna cable to the 75/300
antenna adapter (For all models other than USA
& Canadian models and European models)
Connecting the 300 f_ ribbonwire:
Loosen the screws on the adapter and wrap the wires of the ribbon
wire around these screws. Then tighten the screws down with a
screwdriver.

Connecting the coaxial cable:
1. With your fingernail, or a small screwdriver, press the
stoppers of the 751300 _ antenna adapter outward
and remove the cover.
2. Remove the transformer wire A from slit B and insert
it into slit C.
3. Prepare the coaxial cable as shown in the diagram.
4. Connect the 75/300 _ antenna adapter to the coaxial
cable.
1. Insert the end of the cable.
2. Clamp it in place with pliers.
3. Reinstall the cover.
