Troubleshooting
This section provides instructions for general troubleshooting tasks.
Basic Troubleshooting
The following table contains descriptions and solutions for common problems encountered
when installing or operating the Workstation 820.

Problem Possible Causes Solution
The workstation does
not start and does not
show the splash screen.
No power to the
workstation.
For congurations without the Peripheral
Expansion Module:
• Verify the Workstation 8 Series power
supply is connected to the Power In
port on the Workstation 820.
For congurations with the Peripheral
Expansion Module:
• Verify the System cable is connected to
the Workstation 820 Power In port and
the System In port on the Peripheral
Expansion Module.
• Verify the Workstation 8 Series power
supply is connected to the Power In
port on the Peripheral Expansion
Module.
For all congurations: Verify your country-
specic C5 power cord is fully inserted into
the Workstation 8 Series power supply.
The workstation does
not start.
The operator LCD
remains blank after 30
seconds.
The system board may
be defective.
