The Head connector is connected directly to the Head Amplifier.
Head azimuth, height, zenith and wrap are individually adjustable on
the Reproduce and Record Heads .

These fixed guides direct the tape mot l ion across the heads.
The Tape Ufters are extended when the MX-55 is in Fast Forward
and Rewind modes to separate the tape from the heads and are
retracted whi l le in Stop, Record, Play, Edit and Cue modes.
