loadedtrailer.Theremaynotbe
enoughweightontherearaxleto
providetraction.Thiscouldcause
alossofcontrolandjackknifere-
sultinginaninjuryaccident.Make
suretheexhaustbrakeisswitched
“OFF”whenbobtailingorwithan
unloadedtrailer.Failuretocom-
plymayresultindeath,personal
injury,equipmentorpropertydam-
age.
NOTE
Whentheengine(VGT)exhaust
brakeswitchisinthe“ON”posi-
tion,theengine'selectroniccontrol
module(ECM)monitorsinputs
(suchasacceleratorpedalposition
andenginespeed).Fromthesein-
puts,theECMdetermineswhento
enabletheengine(VGT)exhaust
brakefeaturewhentheproper
brakingconditionsarepresent.
Otherfeatures/switcheslikecruise
control,canalsoaffectwhenthe
engine(VGT)exhaustbrakeactivates.

tivatedwhentheacceleratorpedal
isatits“low-idle”position.Withthe
throttleat“low-idle”position,fuel-
ingcommandstothecylinderswill
notdetractfromthebrakingpower
ofthebrakesystem.
