Workman basket
General Safety Instructions
Let only trained personnel operate the unit.
Don’t manipulate the safety appliances.
Watch out for faults while operating the unit.
Before workman basket operation
Make a visual inspection.
Check the safety equipment every time before start.
When starting the crane
When picking up the workman basket, observe the safe distances and any crushing points.
Observe the maximum wind speed of 10 m/s.
During workman basket operation
Keep the floor in the workman basket free of any dirt, sand and objects.
Watch working area.
Do not stay in the units danger zone.
Secure the working range.
Do not step on anything to increase your stand.
Choose a proper stand when lowering the unit in an emergency.
Observe the maximum capacity.
After workman basket operation
Put down the basket at the intended place.
Keep the safe distances to all moving components of crane and basket.
Maintenance and lubrication
Carry out maintenance works only when the machine is shutdown.
Keep steps, platforms and handles clean.
Technical requirements
The crane must be equipped with a radio remote control (RC operation). The crane operator must
always carry with him a charged spare battery for the RC transmitter.
After failure of the hydraulic unit the crane must be brought in transport position using an emergency
pump.
As soon as the basket is connected to the crane, the crane movements must not be quicker than 0.4
m/s.
Assembly, acceptance and periodic inspection
The assembly of the working platform on the crane is to be carried out in accordance with the valid
assembly guidelines of the PALFINGER company and must be done by an authorised PALFINGER
service centre.
