I cannot hear a dial tone. R Make sure that you are using the supplied telephone line cord.

ur old telephone line cord may have a different wiring
configuration.
R The base unit’s AC adaptor or telephone line cord is not
connected. Check the connections.
R Disconnect the base unit from the telephone line and connect the
line to a known working telephone. If the working telephone
operates properly, contact our service personnel to have the unit
repaired. If the working telephone does not operate properly,
contact your phone service provider.
The base unit beeps. R New messages have been recorded. Listen to the new messages
(p
age 41).
The unit does not work during a
pow
er failure.
R You can insert 2 AAA (R03) batteries (not supplied) into the base
unit that will power the unit temporarily in the event of a power
failure (page 9).
R The base unit display is blank if the saving mode is “On”
(page 10).
