RESET
The settings on the recording or the [SETUP]
menu are reset to the initial settings.
When you reset the settings on the
recording in recording mode, lens is also
placed back to initial position. Despite the
lens operation noise will be occurred, this
is not malfunction
When you reset the SETUP settings,
following settings are also initialized.
Birthday and name settings in [BABY]
and [PET] mode
The number of days that have passed
since the departure date for [TRAVEL
DATE]
[WORLD TIME] setting
[FAVORITE] is xed to [OFF], and
[ROTATE DISP.] is xed to [ON].
The battery type setting, the folder number
and the clock setting are not changed.
USB MODE ( P87 , 90 )
Set the USB mode to be used when
connecting the camera to a computer or a
printer.
q SELECT ON CONNECTION
PictBridge (PTP): Connects the
camera to a
PictBridge
compliant
printer
PC: Connects the camera to a PC
When you set [SELECT ON
CONNECTION], [PictBridge] / [PC]
selection screen will be displayed when
connecting with USB cable.

VIDEO OUT ( P94 )
(Playback mode only)
Set to [NTSC] or [PAL] according to the TV
system in your country.
q NTSC: Video output is set to NTSC
system.
PAL: Video output is set to PAL
system.
TV ASPECT ( P94 )
(Playback mode only)
Set to [j] or [h] according to your
television.
j: Select if your television has a
16:9 aspect ratio.
q h: Select if your television has a
4:3 aspect ratio.
SCENE MENU ( P46 )
Setup the screen in SCENE mode
OFF : Displays the currently selected
scene mode screen
q AUTO :
Displays scene selection screen
Initializing the built-in memory or
a card.
FORMAT
Usually, it is not necessary to format the
built-in memory and the card. Format them
when the message [BUILT-IN MEMORY
ERROR] or [MEMORY CARD ERROR]
appears. Use batteries with suf cient
power when formatting.
Once formatting has been completed,
all data including protected pictures
will be deleted. Make sure not to
delete them before formatting
When the card is not inserted, built-in
memory can be formatted. When the card
is inserted, the card can be formatted.
Press [
] to display menu, enter the setup menu [ ] and select the item. ( P20 )
The setting marked “q” means it is the initial setting.
