2) Remove the long life filter cover. (Fig. 1)
f Remove the long life lter cover xing screws (two locations at right and left) by turning them
counterclockwise, and remove the long life lter cover from the long life lter mount clasp.
f When loosening the long life lter cover xing screws, hold the screws with your hand so they will not fall.
3) Remove the two air filter units from the long life filter cover. (Fig. 2)
f The method to remove the two air lter units is the same.
f Hold the outer frame of the air lter unit and pull out in the direction of the arrow.
f After pulling out the air lter unit, remove large foreign objects and dust from the long life lter cover, air
lter unit compartment and the air intake port of the projector body if there are any.
f When the air lter unit is removed, proceed to “Performing maintenance of the air lter unit” (x page 200)
next.
Attention
f Do not lose the two long life lter cover xing screws that have been removed.
f Take care not to touch the radiator n, etc., when removing dirt or dust.
Performing maintenance of the air lter unit

1) Wash the air filter unit. (Fig. 1)
i) Soak the air filter unit in cold or warm water and then lightly rinse it.
f Do not use cleaning tools such as brushes.
f When rinsing, hold the frame of the air lter unit without putting strong pressure on the lter unit.
ii) Rinse the air filter unit two to three times using fresh water each time.
f Insufcient rinsing may result in odors.
2) Dry the air filter unit. (Fig. 2)
f Let the air lter unit naturally dry off in a well-ventilated place where there is little dust and is not exposed to
direct sunlight.
f Do not dry using drying devices such as dryers.
f After the air lter is dried, proceed to “Attaching the air lter unit” (x page 201) next.
Attention
f After washing the air lter unit, dry it thoroughly before attaching it back to the long life lter cover. Attaching a wet unit will cause an electric
shock or malfunction.
f Do not disassemble the air lter unit.
Note
f Replace the air lter unit with a new Replacement Filter Unit (Model No.: ET-EMF330) (accessory/optional accessory) if it is damaged or if
the dirt does not come off even after washing.
