Attaching the Smoke Cut Filter Unit (optional)
The optional Smoke Cut Filter (Model No.: ET-SFR330) is attached when using the projector in an environment
generating smoke such as an event. Attach the Smoke Cut Filter instead of the standard air lter unit attached to
the projector.
When purchasing the optional Smoke Cut Filter (Model No.: ET-SFR330), consult your dealer.
Attention
f Make sure to turn off the power before removing the standard air lter unit attached to the projector and attaching the optional Smoke Cut
Filter. (x page 68)
f Make sure that the projector is stable, and perform the maintenance in a safe place even if the lter falls accidentally.
Note
f The Smoke Cut Filter cannot be used at an altitude of 1 400 m (4 593') or higher and in an environment where the temperature exceeds
40 °C (104 °F).
f Set [OPERATING MODE] to anything other than [LONG LIFE1], [LONG LIFE2], or [LONG LIFE3] when using the optional Smoke Cut Filter
(Model No.: ET-SFR330).
f The Smoke Cut Filter cannot be maintained, recycled, or reused. Make sure to replace it with an unused one.
Removing the air lter unit
First, remove the standard air lter unit attached to the projector.

1) Turn off the power of the projector.
f When switching off the projector, make sure to follow the procedures in “Switching off the projector”
(x page 68).
2) Open the air filter cover. (Fig. 1)
f Use a Phillips screwdriver to turn the air lter cover xing screw counterclockwise until it turns freely, and
open the air lter cover for approximately 90°.
f Loosen the air lter cover xing screw while holding the air lter cover with your hand.
3) Pull out the air filter unit.
i) Pull out the air filter unit from the tabs on the projector body (c) while slightly pressing the grip on the air filter
unit (a) inward as described with the arrow. (Fig. 2)
ii) Pull out the air filter unit. (Fig. 3)
f When pulling out, conrm that the air lter unit comes off from the tabs on the projector body (d).
f After pulling out the air lter unit, remove large foreign objects and dust from the air lter unit compartment
and the air intake port of the projector body if there are any.
f When the air lter unit is removed, proceed to “Attaching the Smoke Cut Filter” (x page 243) next.

f Take care not to touch the radiator n, etc., when removing dirt or dust.
