8.1 Ethernet connection – no router
Follow the steps detailed below to enable control of your P550c system directly from your WinCan VX-
enabled PC, without a router.
1 Connect an Ethernet cable between the Ethernet port on the flexitrax P550c controller and an
Ethernet socket on the PC, either directly, if the PC itself has an Ethernet port, or using an adapter
such as a “USB to Ethernet” converter.
Note: For most set-ups, any good quality Ethernet cable is suitable, but using a crossover Ethernet
cable can help solve some connection issues, particularly for older equipment.
2 From the P550c controller Start-up screen, select
Settings > Network > Ethernet settings
3 Set the IP assignment to Manual.
4 Set the IP address to 169.148.1.120
Note: You can choose an arbitrary IP address, but it must be of this format. If you select a different IP
address, ensure the next steps follow a similar layout.
5 Set the Subnet mask to 255.255.255.0
6 Set the Default gateway to 169.148.1.121
