Capture Mode Palette
There are 18 available shooting modes.
1 b Auto Picture
Use this mode to select the best shooting mode automatically. (p.64)
2 R Program
The basic shooting mode. You can let the camera set the functions or
choose various functions yourself. (p.66)
3 A Night Scene
Ideal for taking night views. It is best to use a
tripod in this mode. Use the flash if including
people in your picture. (p.77)
4 C Movie
Use this mode for taking movies. Sound is recorded at the same time.
(p.79)
Mode Palette List
• Some functions may not be available or may not function fully
depending on the shooting mode. For details, refer to “Available
functions for each Capture mode” (1p.196).
• When you select an icon on the Mode Palette, waiting for about 3
seconds, the description for the selected mode appears. You can
set whether or not the description appears with the “Guide
Display” on the “u Set-up” menu. (1p.191)
•For z/ / and /i, press the OK button to switch to the
selected icon. Only the icon of the selected mode is displayed on
the Mode Palette. If you change the selection, the newly selected
icons replace the previous ones.
