Inspect Coolant Level
Inspect the vehicle's coolant surge tank for
proper coolant level. Add coolant if the
level in the tank is below the line marked
MIN.
The minimum fluid level is determined by
the line on the surge tank indicated by the
letters "MIN." This indicator is located
below the fill cap. The cooling system will
need to be filled if the level is not above the
"MIN" line, regardless of engine
temperature.

How to Add Coolant to the Cooling
System
Add coolant through the surge tank fill cap.
Do not remove the pressure cap to fill the
cooling system.
WARNING
DO NOT remove the radiator fill cap
while the engine is hot. Scalding
steam and fluid under pressure may
escape. You could be badly burned.
Failure to comply may result in death
or personal injury.
NOTE
If frequent topping off is necessary and
there are no visible signs of coolant
leaks when the engine is cold, check
for leaks with the engine operating at
normal temperature.
NOTE
Do NOT use the pressure cap to fill
the surge tank with coolant.
NOTE
Do not overfill a cooling system. Ex-
cess coolant may result in overflow,
loss of antifreeze, and reduced corro-
sion protection.
