Regulating
the
Thread
Tensions
The
proper
regulation
of
tensions
is very
Important
with
the
Pfaff
467
because
this
machine
Is chiefly intended for intricate
sewing
jobs
requiring different feed settings. It greatly affects
the
neat
appearance
of
the
finished
seam
and
its durability.
As a rule, both
tensions
should
be
set
as light as possible in order to avoid puckering on
"problem"
materials.
Both
tensions
are
correctly
balanced
if
the
needle
and
bobbin
threads
Interlock
in
the
center
of
the
material, as
shown
in Fig.
11.
Fig. 11
The
needle
thread
tension
is
increased
by
turning
tension
nut
M (Fig.
12)
in,
and
decreased,
by
turning
it
out.
The
bobbin
thread
tension
is
regulated
by
means
of
the
small
hook
screwdriver.
Turn
tension
screw
X in for
more
tension,
or
out,
for
less
tension
(Fig.
13).
The
tension
should
be
regulated
according
to
the
material
to
be
sewn.
Check
to
see
that
the
stitches
are
tightly
set,
without
causing
seam
puckering,
and
lie in a
straight
line.
