1. Use the standard presser foot to sew straight,
parallel lines 1cm (3/8 inch) apart, across the
area to be smocked.
2.
Knot the threads at the beginning of the stitch-
ing. Pull the bobbin threads and distribute the
gathers evenly. Secure the threads at end of the
stitching.
3. Reduce the tension, if necessary and sew
decorative stitch stitches between the straight
seams.
4. Pull out the gathering straight stitches.
