b With the video recorderswitched on, and before you
start recording,select the recording speed withthe
SP/LP, AV button.On the video recorder displayyou will
see: ’LP’: Long Play= half recording speed (double
recording time).
’SP’: Standard Play =normal recording speed.
DThe picture quality may sufferwhen you record at
half speed (LP).
DWhen you play back your recording,the machine
will automaticallyselect the correct speed.
Automatic recording from a satellite
receiver (SAT RECORDING)
You can only use thisfunction, when you have a satellite
receiver which can controlother equipment by a
’programming’ function.
a Use a scart cable toconnect the scart socket
EXT.2 AV 2 to the scartsocket on the satellitereceiver.
b Put a cassette inthe machine. Switch off withthe
TV/STANDBYm button on the remote control.
c Hold the MONITOR buton on the remote control, until
’SAT.P’ appears on thevideo recorder display.
The video recorder isnow ready to record. The
EXT.2 AV 2 plug controls thestart and the end of the
recording.
DWhen this function is switchedon and the video
recorder is switchedoff, ’x’ appears on thevideo
recorder display.
DIf you want to cancel thisfunction before the
recording has started,you must hold the
MONITOR button until ’SAT.P’ disappears.
DIf you want to cancel thisfunction while a
programme is being recorded,press the
TV/STANDBYm button on the remote control.
Switching on ’DirectRecord’
When this functionis switched on, the videorecorder will
automatically recordthe programme selected on thetelevision
by means of a scartcable.
DThe video recorder must be switchedoff .
a Switch on the TV setand select the programme number
for the video recorder.
b Press the MENU button on the remote control. Themain
menu will appear.
c Select the line ’DIRECT RECORD’ withthe P r or
P q button.
d Confirm with the OK button.
e Select the function ’ON’ with the P q button. If you
select ’OFF’, the functionwill be switched off.
f Confirm with the OK button.
g On the TV set, selectthe programme number youwant to
record from.
h Press the RECORD/OTR n button with the videorecorder
switched off.
DDon’t select another programmenumber on your TV
set, until the ’searchsymbol’ on the video recorder
display has disappeared.This can take up to one
minute.
DIf ’NOTV’ appears on the videorecorder display, this
means the video recordercannot find this
programme number. In thiscase, read the section
’Recording without automaticswitch-off’.
