Use programmed recordingto automatically startand stop a
recording at a laterdate.
To make a programmed recording,your video recorder needs
to know:
* the date you wantto make the recording;
* the programme numberfor the TV channel you wantto
record;
* the start andstop time of the recording;
* whether you wantto use VPS or PDC
The video recorder storesall the information in a TIMER block.
You can programme up to 6TIMER blocks a month inadvance.
’VPS’ (Video ProgrammingSystem) and
’PDC’ (Programme DeliveryControl)
With ’VPS and PDC’,the TV station controlsthe start time and
the length of the recording.This means that thevideo recorder
switches itselfon and off at the righttime even if a TV
programme you want torecord begins earlier orfinishes later
than expected.
Usually the starttime is the sameas the VPS or PDC time.But
if your TV guide givesa VPS or PDC timewhich is different to
the programme’s starttime (for example, 20.15and VPS 20.14),
you must enter ’20.14’as the start time.
If you want to programmea time that is different fromthe VPS
or PDC time, youmust switch off VPSor PDC.
Programming a recording
(with ’SHOWVIEW’)
All the importantinformation needed for a programmingis
contained in the SHOWVIEW-programmingnumber.
a Switch on the TV setand select the programme number
for the video recorder.
b Press the TIMER button on the remote control.
c Enter the entire SHOWVIEW-number(up to 9 digits)
printed in your TV guidenext to the starttime of a TV
programme.
For example, 5-312-4or 5 312 4
Enter 53124for the SHOWVIEW-number.
If you make a mistake,you can clear your instructions
with the CLEAR (CL), y button.

Instead of ’E2’, youcan select the programme
number you want withthe number buttons 0-9 and
confirm with the OK button.
DIf ’CODE ERROR’ appears on the TV screen,this
means you entered an incorrectSHOWVIEW-code
number or the incorrectdate. Correct your
instructions orend with the TIMER button.
DIf ’DAILY ERROR’ appears on the TV screen,the
date was incorrectlyentered. Daily programming
can only be used for recordingsto be made from
Monday to Friday.
DUse the SELECT button to switch ’VPS/PDC’on or
off.
DIf you want to set a laterend time for a recording,
press the P q button. Each time you press the
P q button, you will add 15minutes to the end time.
