Question Answer
Since there are various kinds of USB Mass
Storage Device Class (umass), not all devices
are guaranteed to be compatible. For example,
some USB flash drives can work on Windows
XP, Apple Mac and Linux, but some USB flash
drives can work on Windows but not Mac.This
is because some drive manufacturers test their
devices on the Windows XP platform only, not
fully complying with the specification of the
USB consortium of testing on most platforms.
This also explains why Linux does not support
all USB Mass Storage Device Class (umass).
USB Direct can work with Apple iPod Shuffle,
iPod Video, iPod Nano and iPod Photo, but for
large capacity players, it is not recommended
to connect them to USB Direct, because it will
take a long time for the Center to categorize
the content.
USB Direct works with most Philips GoGear
MP3 players such as the SA11xx, SA12xx,
SA13xx series, but not the hard disk based
MP3 players.
This means your USB device cannot be
recognized by USB Direct.
No.The WAC3500's USB Direct feature does
not support the playback of any protected
music files on the Center.
This could be due to the large number of files
or the size of the files on your USB device. Or,
there could be other non-supported file
formats on your USB device that the system is
trying to read.
The songs will be scanned and categorized
into: Playlists, Artists, Albums, Genres and All
tracks.
