ouslycollectsinformationabouttheinputsignalsandthecurrentacquisitionsettings.Ifthesesettings
incombinationwiththeinputratesindicatepossibleerrors,thesoftwarewillactivatethewarningicon.
Thewarningiconcanbeclickedtodisplayalistofcurrentwarningstogetherwithabriefexplanationofeach
warning(seealsosection8.1).Notethatthesoftwarecandetectonlyasubsetofpossibleerrorconditions.Itis
thereforenotsafetoassume“allisright”justbyseeingnowarning.Ontheotherhand,ifanyofthewarnings
turnsouttobeanunnecessarynuisance,e.g.,becauseyourspecificmeasurementconditionswillexpectedly
causeit,youcandisablethatwarningviathegeneralsettingsdialog(seesection6.7).
StartingwithMultiHarpsoftwareversion3.0andtheMultiHarp160itispossibletosetahysteresisoftheinput
comparatorslargerthanthedefaultvalue.Thissettingcanbemadethoughthegeneralsettingsdialog(see
section6.7).Itappliestoallinputssimultaneously,includingthesyncinput.Thereareonlytwochoices:thede-
faultvalueofabout3mVandthelargehysteresisvalueofabout35mV.Thelargerhysteresismayinsome
caseshelptosuppressnoiseartefactsontheinputsignals.Considerthisonlyalastrescuewhenitisimpossi-
bletoeliminatethenoiseatitsorigin.TheMultiHarp150modelsoutinthefieldatthetimeofthissoftwarere-
leasedonothavetheprogrammablehysteresisfeature.However,itisplannedtomakeitavailablebywayofa
