sometensofns.Thebenefitisremotesynchronizationoverlargedistances.Ifbetteraccuracyisrequired,con-
siderWhiteRabbitinstead.

TheMultiHarp160ismodularbydesign.Uptothreeextensionunitscanbeaddedontopofthebaseunitinor-
dertoprovidemoreinputchannels.Theextensionunitsmustbestackedonthemainunitinascendingorder,
i.e.firstX1,thenX2andfinallyX3.
TheextensionconnectorsarelabeledE1,E2,andE3onthebaseunitandjustEontheextensionunits.Each
extensionunitshipswithadedicatedcable(SamtecEPLSP)foritsconnectiontothebaseunit.Thefigurebe-
lowshowshowthecorrespondingconnectionsmustbemade.
ThededicatedSamtecEPLSPcables(orange)mustthenbeconnectedatthebackasshown,startingatcon-
nectorE1forthefirstextensionunit(shortestcable),continuinguptoE3forthelastextensionunit(longestca-
ble).Other(cross-)connectionsarenotallowed.Ifthemaximumof3extensionunitsisnotexhaustedthenthe
correspondingsocketsremainunconnected.Theseconnectionsmustbemadebeforethedeviceisswitchedon
andmustnotbeconnectedordisconnectedwhilethedeviceispoweredon.
