Input Hysteresis Group
StartingwithMultiHarpsoftwareversion3.0andtheMultiHarp160itispossibletosetahysteresisoftheinput
comparatorslargerthanthedefaultvalue.Thissettingcanbemadehere.Itappliestoallinputssimultaneously,
includingthesyncinput.Thereareonlytwochoices:thedefaultvalueofabout3mVandthelargehysteresis
valueofabout35mV.Thelargerhysteresismayinsomecaseshelptosuppressnoiseartefactsontheinput
signals.Considerthisonlyalastrescuewhenitisimpossibletoeliminatethenoiseatitsorigin.
Notethatthissettingchangesuponloadinganexistingmeasurementfileaccordingtowhatwassetinthisfile.
Notealsothattheradiobuttonsforthehysteresissettingwillbedisabled(grayedout)whenthepresenthard-
waredoesnothavetheprogrammablehysteresisfeature.TheMultiHarp150modelsoutinthefieldatthetime
ofthissoftwarereleasedonotyethavethisfeature.However,itisplannedtomakeitavailablebywayofa
firmwareupdate.PleasecontactPicoQuantifyouneedit.
TTTR Marker Settings Group
HereyoucansetthesignalspecificationsforexternalmarkersignalsusedinTTTRmode(T2andT3mode).
Thesettingsforthedifferentmarkersareindependentfromeachother.Thefollowingtableappliestoeachof
thefourmarkers:
enable CheckthisifyouwantthemarkertobeincludedintotheTTTRdatastream.
rising / falling Radiobuttonstoidentifytheactiveedgeofthesignal.
Reference Clock Source Group
HereyoucanselecttheMultiHarp‘sclocksource.Normallyitrunsonitsowninternalcrystalclock.Incases
whereclocksynchronizationwithotherdevicesisrequireditispossibletouseanexternalsource,e.g.,another
MultiHarp,aGPS/GLONASSreceiver,oranatomicclock.Thelatterareofinterestwhenamoreaccurateclock
isrequired.Ineachcasetheclocksourcemustdeliveranindustrystandard10MHzclocksignal.Whenremote
synchronizationisrequiredthebestoptionisWhiteRabbit.InthiscasetheWhiteRabbitlinkmusthavebeen
establishedbeforeswitchingtoWhiteRabbitasaclocksource.Notethatanychangeoftheclocksourcere-
quiresre-initializationoftheMultiHarp.Alsonotethatanydisconnectionfromorinterruptionoftheexternalclock
willcausetheMultiHarptofailandreportasystemerror.Torecoverfromthiserrorstatethedevicemustbere-
initializedaftertheclocksourceisstableagain.
6.8. White Rabbit Dialog
Thisdialogallowsconfigurationandcontrolofthe MultiHarp‘sbuilt-inWhiteRabbitPTPCore(WRPC).This
corerunsautonomouslyintheMultiHarp‘sFPGAandisnotnormallyrequiredtousetheMultiHarp’sregularTC-
SPCandtimetaggingfunctionality.However,onceaWhiteRabbitconnectionhasbeenestablisheditispossi-
bletoswitchtheMultiHarp’sclocksourceovertoWhiteRabbit.Timetaggingcanthenbeperformedsynchro-
noustotheWhiteRabbitclockandremotedevice(s)synchronizedtothesametimingreference.
