WEIGHING.
(Refer
to Figure
2-7.)
The airplane
may be
weighed
by
the
following
procedure:
a.
Position
a scale
and
ramp
in front
of each
of the
three
wheels.
b. Secure
the
scales from
rolling
forward
and tow
the airplane
up
onto the
scales.
(Refer
to Towing,
Paragraph 2-18.)
c.
Remove
the
ramp
so as
not to
interfere
with
the
scales.
d. If
the airplane
is
to be
weighed
for weight
and balance
computations,
level
the
airplane
per
instructions
given
in Paragraph
2-14.
2-14.
LEVELING.
All
configurations
of
the airplane
are
provided
with
a means
for
longitudinal
and lateral
leveling.
The
airplane may
be leveled
while
on jacks;
during
the
weighing
procedure
while the
wheels
are on scales;
or while
the wheels
are
on the ground.
To level
the airplane
for purposes
of
weighing
or rigging,
the following
procedures
may
be
used:
a. To
longitudinally
level
the airplane,
partially
withdraw
the two
leveling
screws
located
immediately
below
the left
front side
window.
(Refer
to Figure
2-8.) Place
a spirit
level on
these screw
heads
and deflate
the nose
wheel
tire or adjust
the
jacks until
the
bubble
of the level
is centered.
b.
To laterally
level the
airplane, place
a spirit
level across the
baggage
compartment
floor
along the
rear bulkhead
(Refer
to Figure
2-9.)
and deflate
the tire
on the
high side
of
the
airplane
or adjust
either jack
until the
bubble of
the level is
centered.
